TPD/R/O Puls Chemisorption
  • An instrument used to analyze catalysts in temperatures ranging from 40°C to 1100°C (Cryo-Option to –80°C available). Fully automatic pretreatment procedures during the measurement of Temperature Programmed Desorption, Reduction, Oxidation or isothermal pulse-chemisorption. To analyze gas mixtures, a dedicated MS-coupling working in the range of 1 to 300 amu is also available.
  • One of the most time consuming steps in the development of heterogeneous catalysts and other active materials is the characterization of surface properties and reactivities. Fundamental parameters such as free metal surface area, metal dispersion and surface activity very often, can only be determined with time consuming measurements, which are difficult to reproduce by manual operation.
  • The TPDRO 1100 is a new concept instrument designed to characterize heterogeneous supported catalysts and reactive solids. Fully automated by computer control and high accuracy detection, make it ideal for quality control and basic research applications.
  • The TPDRO 1100 can perform unattended and reproducible catalysts activation (pre-treatment), temperature programmed desorption (TPD), temperature programmed reduction (TPR), temperature programmed oxidation (TPO) and pulse chemisorption analyses.
  • The "heart" of the system is a special reactor that can be sealed from the external environment. Catalysts, after the sample activation, can be stored without time limits under a suitable inert gas atmosphere. The complete closed reactor with the activated sample can therefore be transferred.
  • The TPDRO 1100 features two independent reactor connections: one is used for catalyst pre-treatment and the other for analysis. Thanks to the possibility of moving the reactor, the operator can save a lot of valuable time performing simultaneously and independently the selected activation procedure on one catalyst and the analytical cycle on a second catalyst.
  • The TPDRO 1100 allows an increase in the number of measurements per day, because the pre-treatment procedures very often require more time than the analysis itself. A powerful 32-bit software for Windows 95™, Windows 98™ or Windows NT4.0™ does the administration of gases, metals, reactions, analysis  methods and pre-treatment methods using a relational database.
  • The user-friendly software also covers instrument control, data acquisition, real time data display, integration, calibration, calculation and reports.
